In Florida can a Parent be ordered to pay for a child’s college education?
No.
In Florida a judge will not order a parent to pay for their child’s college education. Doing so would be similar to requiring child support for an adult.
The exception to this rule would be if the parties agreed that one or both of them would pay for a child’s college education as part of their divorce or paternity settlement agreement. In that situation, a judge could enforce the party’s own agreement.
